Season 2012 - How will the Championship 1 clubs do?
A lot of other club sites are discussing how they and others will do this season. The favourites for promotion seem to be Haven and Barrow with Rochdale, Town, Oldham, Donny fighting for the other 2 places and this is how I would place them. Haven have lost a couple of players and disbanded their U23 team to concentrate on promotion and have bought some qualiity including some from higher division clubs, Barrow have lost a few because of finances it seem, but have bought well. Rochdale seem to have strengthened well and Town have lost a few back to Barrow but Lupton is surely a brilliant signing if he can keep free of injuries. Oldham and Donny seem to have signed and lost players of similar stature. That leaves Scorpions, Skolars, Thunder and Crusaders making up the numbers. Hopefully we will have a better season and Crusaders don't yet have a team, so this is where I think they will finish. What does anyone else think?
I think Crusaders will pull together an OK squad made up mainly of superleague reserves and under 18s after the RFL asks clubs to lend them some support. and Finnish mid table.
I'm not convinced that we have brought in enough size in the pack so will struggle again. Hope I'm wrong good to see Mcbride, back. Hope he comes back early enough to het some preseason in.

I honestly think Crusaders will be very strong indeed, let's not forget they've recruited well. Donny will be there or there abouts, Scorpions went very well in their first season and I can see them impoving again this year. You should never underestimate Workie, Haven or Barrow, they breed em' big and tough in Cumbria, but for me it's Barrow that have the most to prove after what happened at the end of the 2011 season. Rochdale along with every other team in Championship 1 have strengthend heavily and will be be a team to watch.
I think that Thunder will do better than last season, winning a few games hopefully, against the likes of Scholars, Donny & Crusaders.
Top 3 predictions would be Whitehaven, Barrow & Workington.
Should be interesting to see how we perform against Cas, either way I'm looking forward to the new season
reading league express and league weekly papers and also looking at other teams forums i see crusaders are starting again like we did, holding trials for the local players around north wales, good luck to crusaders though this season on what ive read there squad will not be as strong as alot of teams in this division, barrow workington whitehaven all have good squads and doncaster just signed paul cooke yesterday what a top signing for them and our division, rochdale are always strong, oldham are always strong and scholars will do well again this season in my opinion, south wales have lost a few of there top players so id like to think we could take points off crusaders, scolars, south wales and maybe doncaster, our squad is looking good and im confident kev neighbour will do a great job, its going to be another tough season though im going for thunder to finish 7th out of the 10 teams and get a play-off spot, i believe we are capable of 7th this season and who no's even 6th haha cmon thunder! cmon thunder!!
Scorpions have made a few decent signings and the latest one, in my opinion will be a good capture. Jamie Rooney, if he can recapture some of his past form will do well.
The general consensus on other clubs sites, betting sites etc, is that we will be wooden spoonists again this year. We are 66/1 to win the league on several sites (along side Scholars) and 80/1 on one site. With Haven's poor start to the season, Barrow are favourites and Town 2nd favourites in the main.
Of course if I had read my own thread starter, I would know how to spell Skolars, but I agree. They have a good link up with Broncos and seem to have a strong squad - in fact most clubs seem to have good links, which in theory gives them an advantage over us. Only time will tell
It does seem to me that this will always be Thunders great disadvantage - no super league club within an hours drive
