Whenever you post a message you automatically get an email telling you that you've posted a message.  And when you unsubscribe to stop getting those emails you get another email telling you that you've unsubscribed.

This is really annoying.  Can it be stopped?

When you post to any thread you are automatically subscribed to it, and you receive a copy of your own post to confirm it, and then subsequently you receive any other replies to that thread.

You can unsubscribe on the individual thread using the "unsubscribe" button or by going to "My posts" you can unsubscribe on mass. You will always receive an email to confirm an unsubscribe so that you can be assured that the unsubscribe was actioned.

We can turn off auto-unsubscribe but it would be done for all users rather than just you, I know I personally prefer to be auto-subscribed so that I don't need to keep popping back to see what else has been said, but obviously it is up to the thunderstorm committee how this should operate on here.

Yeah, switch it off.
